After miscarrying her baby, her doctors told her that she had gestational trophoblastic disease – a cancer that was activated by her pregnancy. The next months were a challenging period of chemotherapy, loneliness, and grief. Coming into remission became a rebirth: she became an adoptive mom, and began competing in triathlons.
